The Minister Of Home Affairs Does Not Give Permission To The Acting Governor Of Bali To Create A New Policy

DENPASAR - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian confirmed that he would not give permission to Acting Governor of Bali Sang Made Mahendra to make a new policy that was too significant for more than a year.

In giving the direction concurrently with the handover of the position of Governor of Bali, the Minister of Home Affairs emphasized that the acting governor has four limits contained in Law Number 10 of 2016, one of which is the prohibition on making new policies except for the permission of the Minister of Home Affairs.

"With the clearness of Mr. Wayan Koster's concept, I will convey (to the Acting Governor of Bali) no, I do not give permission to make very significant new things. Implement what has become a concept that has been worked on, that alone has been a reward, good job," Tito said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 8.

Tito himself assessed that Koster's explanation regarding his performance from 2018-2023 was detailed/detailed, and it had even been proposed what his successor could do so that it could be easier.

Seeing these programs, the former National Police Chief dubbed Koster as a strong leader because he has strength, power, and followers, as well as a work concept that includes many aspects of efforts to solve problems on the Island of the Gods.

In addition to tourism, the former Governor of Bali from Buleleng is considered capable of dealing with problems related to nature, human resources, and even drafting the concept of 100 years of Bali development.

"This is extraordinary, I have not found a concept that thinks far ahead, so I advise the acting officer who has just continued the execution of these concepts to become a reality for this year," said the Minister of Home Affairs.

He advised the Made Mahendra to add things that were deemed necessary, such as problems with handling natural disasters, for example.

"But working on what is already in that concept is actually enough for my opinion. It's just a matter of how to execute it, so I ask the acting to continue to coordinate with Wayan Koster and Cok Ace (former deputy governor)," he said.

Meanwhile, the Acting Governor of Bali himself has explained his work plans to the Minister of Home Affairs, most of which are related to President Jokowi's directives.

Several things were conveyed, namely efforts to reduce extreme poverty, in Bali, the extreme poverty rate is relatively low, namely 0.54 percent and the challenge is to make this 0 percent in 2024.

The efforts include mapping people who are classified as extreme poor using NIK, then reducing the burden of community spending through social assistance and social security programs, and increasing people's income through increasing productivity and community empowerment.

The Bali Provincial Government will seek human resource capacity, through vocational and training programs, assistance and strengthening entrepreneurship, as well as Ngerombo or extreme poverty group, by involving philanthropics, foster parents and other stakeholders.
