The Mataram City Environment Agency (DLH) has again been able to put waste in the Regional Final Disposal Site (TPA) of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province in Kebon Kongok, West Lombok Regency.
The TPA in Kebon Kongok was closed from August 29 to September 1 to prepare for the operation of a new TPA site.
"Now we are working hard and working together to start installments of waste accommodated at the Sandubaya TPST to the Regional TPA, to the new landfill," said Secretary of the Mataram City Environment Agency, Irwansyah in Mataram, Monday, September 4, as reported by Antara.
Irwansyah said, DLH operates 50 garbage transport vehicles every day to optimize the transfer of waste from the Sandubaya TPST to the Kebon Kongok TPA.
"We are targeting that the condition of the Sandubaya TPST will return to normal in the next week or so," he said.
He explained that the agency deployed officers to carry out routine garbage transportation to the regional TPA and gradually transferred waste from the Sandubaya TPST to the final disposal site.
"Usually a day the officers throw garbage into the TPA two to three times, now it's four to five times," he said.

After the pile of garbage at TPST Sandubaya has been transferred to the Kebon Kongok TPA, the function of the organic and inorganic waste processing facilities will be re-optimized.
"The Sandubaya TPST is currently a place for processing household wet waste for Maggot feed, the selection of plastic waste, including leaf waste from sweeping into compost and liquid fertilizer," said Irwansyah.
According to data from the Mataram City DLH, previously around 200 tons of total 250 to 260 tons of waste produced in Mataram City entered the TPA.
The volume of waste that goes to the TPA, according to data from the Mataram City Environment Agency, can be reduced by about 25 tons by sorting and handling waste at the environmental level.
"Organic waste that is sorted from household can be directly processed into food for magazines, compost, and liquid fertilizer," said Irwansyah.
