Makassar Satpol PP Corruption Defendant Sued 5 Years In Prison

The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the South Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office (Sulsel) has demanded a former high-ranking Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) Makassar City with five years in prison for the corruption case of the 2017-2020 Satpol PP operational funds.

"It was emphasized that as a result of the actions of the defendants, the state's finances or the state's economy were more than Rp. 4.8 billion," said Public Prosecutor Suwono accompanied by Nining while reading the indictment at the Makassar Corruption Court, South Sulawesi, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 30.

Iman Hud, former Head of Makassar Satpol PP and Abdul Rahim, former Head of the Makassar Satpol PP Operations Section, is considered by the prosecutor to be legally proven and convincingly guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption together.

The defendant is believed by the prosecutor to have committed a criminal act of corruption, namely against the law having inserted 123 names of Makassar City Satpol PP personnel into an assignment warrant for City Patrol, Security and Public Order and Mass Control activities whose budgets have been sourced at the Makassar City Satpol PP DPA since 2017-2020.

In surveillance and security activities, sub-district public order whose budget is sourced in DPA 14 SKPD Makassar District throughout Makassar City for the 2017-2020 budget year, it is as if the personnel are on duty in the sub-district or on duty in Makassar City Hall activities.

Then, the concept or draft of the order was immediately signed by the defendant Iman Hud as the leader of the Makassar Satpol PP. Furthermore, the warrant became the basis for payment of honorariums, both from funds sourced from the sub-district DPA and from the Makassar City Satpol PP DPA.

After the honorarium was paid, the defendant Abdul Rahim contacted a member of the Satpol PP whose name had been inserted in the Order to hand over or deposit the honorarium money to the defendant Abdul Rahim and to witness Iqbal Asnan (deceased).
