13 Narcotics Suspects Arrested By The North Sulawesi National Narcotics Agency In 8 Months, Most Of The Cases Of Gorilla Tobacco

SULTRA - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of North Sulawesi Province (Sulut) arrested 13 narcotics suspects during January-August 2023.

The head of the North Sulawesi National Narcotics Agency, Brigadier General Pol Pitra Ratulangi, said that of the suspects arrested, two of them were involved in a narcotics network.

The most cases revealed by the Southeast Sulawesi National Narcotics Agency were methamphetamine, then gorilla tobacco.

According to Pitra, sharing the modus operandi revealed in handling this case is like delivering narcotics couriers somewhere to be taken by buyers.

Other modes, online bookings and delivery use packages via delivery services.

By using existing technology, he continued, transactions are rarely directly available to goods senders because of payments and delivery online.

Thus, said Pitra, there has never been a meeting between people who order/buy with dealers/sellers.

The head of the North Sulawesi National Narcotics Agency acknowledged that the modes were increasingly difficult to reveal. However, his party continues to disclose the narcotics case.

"Thank God for arresting 13 suspects in cutting off two networks," he said, Thursday, August 25.

He expressed his gratitude to related agencies such as the police and customs who continue to coordinate in disclosing narcotics cases in the area. Likewise, the same words to the community who helped the North Sulawesi BNN through providing information.
