SINGKAWANG - Perumda Gunung Poteng Drinking Water (AMGP) Singkawang, West Kalimantan stated, is currently constrained in distributing clean water to customers because several mountain raw water sources experience drought due to the current dry season. "Those who experience drought are the source of mountain raw water in Eria, Tirtayasa and Hangmuy," said Director of Perumda AMGP Singkawang Suriandi in Singkawang, Antara, Thursday, August 24. According to him, if the source of the mountain's raw water runs out or dry, then automatically the processing and distribution of water will also be hampered. For Singkawang, he said, the best source of raw water is Sungai Semelagi. "While there is 200 liters of IPA per second which includes 50 liters of IPA per second processed in Semelagi to serve the distribution of water in the northern zone and 150 liters of IPA per second processed in Roban to serve the distribution of water in the west and south zones," he said. Considering that it is currently the dry season, the raw water source for the central and western zones has experienced drought, so a policy was made to divide the amount of raw water while being processed in Roban for IPA III divided slightly into IPA II. "With the hope that water treatment can be maximized, especially in IPA II. And clean water can be distributed to the central zone which includes Roban, Perumnas, Condong, Sekip Lama and Kampung Jawa," he said. According to him, the temporary policy is quite good, it's just that it has an impact on the southern zone where the distribution of water becomes small or small. Even in recent days, his party has always received complaints from the public at the border between the middle and north because the water is always small, especially in the third layer of the house. "For the first layer of the house (big road edge) the water is enough," he said. His party will make a new policy to create a "Valve Block" in the hope that the water from Roban that flows into the Garam River and meets Valve will be under pressure back. So that it can reach two and three consumer homes in Sungai Garam. "Likewise with the north zone, especially the Selelagi area, the water from there to the Garam River meets with Valve, there will also be back pressure," he said again.

He hopes that the policies made can answer complaints from consumers, especially in the current dry season.
