JAKARTA - An Emirates airline successfully landing in France, after suffering damage to the right flank.

The airline confirmed the damage to the wing of the Airbus A380 was discovered by technicians, after landing at Nice Airport, France on Friday.

Emirates said the flight from Dubai, United Arab Emirates had "landed normally" while passengers and crew left the plane safely.

"Emitores can confirm that the EK77 flight landed normally and the passengers and crew got off safely," said an Emirates representative, as reported by The National News, August 22.

"On landing, technicians found some damage to the blades in the right flank, and the plane will remain on land for further investigation," the representative continued.

"Security is our top priority and will not be compromised," he said.

Regarding the incident, French aviation authorities conducted an investigation to determine the cause.

It is known, damage to aircraft during flights is rare. In June 2022, an Emirates plane bound for Brisbane landed safely, after a tire burst and made a hole in the out-of-plane skin.

At the time, the airline said all passengers had dropped according to schedule from the Emirates EK430 flight.

Australian media showed photos of an airplane with a hole on its side and reported a tire burst during takeoff.

In April, a flydubai airline continued its flight on schedule, after being hit by a bird while taking off in Nepal.
