Admitting Just Wanting To Perfect JIS, Acting Governor Heru: Don't Drag It Into Something Else

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono emphasized that he did not consider the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) to have problems.

According to him, the JIS improvement work carried out by the central government and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, is only limited to improvement ahead of the U-17 World Cup in November.

"The DKI Regional Government together with the Central Government are optimizing the facilities towards and out of JIS. I have never said revitalization. I just said that I am increasing improvement, perfecting what already exists," Heru told reporters at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Friday, July 28.

Heru's improvements include the addition of parking bags for JIS visitors, repairing road access to JIS, and building pedestrian bridges from the Ancol area connected to the stadium.

So, Heru felt that there was no need for parties to associate Heru's actions in improving the infrastructure in the JIS area to have a political element. Moreover, Heru is an ASN who has also served as the Mayor of North Jakarta and is involved in managing the certification of land where JIS was founded.

"Don't let any parties drag me about JIS to others. At that time, I was in the North Jakarta area, part of what secured the 80 hectares of assets," said Heru.

Furthermore, Heru views that he only continued the work of the previous governors who played a role in the construction of the magnificent stadium in Jakarta, from the beginning of land acquisition until the building was established.

"This is our goal to build a good one, assets belonging to DKI that we must take care of. The creation of our seniors or previous leaders must be treated," he explained.

"And I thank Pak Wiyogo Atmodarminto, Pak Soerjadi Soedirdja, Pak Sutiyoso, Pak Fauzi Bowo, Pak Joko Widodo, Pak Basuki Purnama, Pak Djarot Saiful, and Pak Anies Baswedan. I must take care of JIS," he added.

Previously, the NasDem faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD asked Heru Budi not to participate in politics in leading the capital city. The party faction led by Surya Paloh asked Heru to focus on carrying out his priority program as Acting Governor of DKI until 2024.

Selain itu, Fraksi NasDem juga meminta Heru melanjutkan program-program Gubernur DKI Jakarta periode sebelumnya yang telah berjalan.

This was conveyed by a member of the NasDem Faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Jupiter in a plenary meeting with the agenda of general views of the factions against the Raperda regarding Accountability for the Implementation of the 2022 Budget Year.

"The NasDem faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD reminds the Acting Governor to work more consistently, especially in carrying out the Governor's priority programs and not participating in practical politics, but still running and supervising the progress of previous governors' programs," said Jupiter at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Monday, July 24.
