Leaking Gas Cylinder, Two-story House In Pondok Bambu Burns, One Person Dies

JAKARTA One person was reported killed in a fire incident in a 2-story house on Jalan Cipinang Muara 1 RT 08/RW 03 Pondok Bambu Village, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, Friday, July 28 in the early hours of the morning. The fire resulted in the death of one person. Victim Deliana (70) was found in the bathroom on the first floor," said Head of Operations Section of the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept. Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed in Jakarta, Friday, July 28.

According to him, the fire incident that scorched the building covering an area of 60 square meters (m2) occurred at around 02.49 WIB. He said, based on information from residents, the owner was cooking and there was a gas leak.

"Suddenly the fire had grown and spread to other buildings," he said. East Jakarta Gulkarmat officers also deployed 10 fire engines with 50 personnel to extinguish the red rooster. The loss due to the fire is estimated at Rp. 450 million. "The fire suppression was completed at 04.00 WIB," said Gatot.
