Today Jokowi Will Announce 3 Days Eid Holiday, Joint Leave June 28-30, 2023

JAKARTA - Menpan RB Abdullah Azwar Anas said President Jokowi would announce his joint leave for Eid al-Adha 2023. The announcement will be made by Jokowi today, Wednesday, June 21.

"Today the President will announce (joint leave), we'll just have to wait," said Anas after the signing of the MoU in the field of SPBE and legal services with universities at the Ministry of PAN and RB (Kemenpan RB), Jakarta, Wednesday, June 21, which was confiscated by Antara.

Based on the Joint Decree (SKB) of 3 Ministers who were also signed, Anas said that a joint leave for Eid al-Adha 2023 or 1444 Hijriah had been set on June 28 and 30, 2023.

Meanwhile, the 2023 Eid al-Adha national holiday falls on June 29, 2023. "Yesterday I told you, I have signed everything," said Anas.

Previously, President Jokowi said that the addition of holidays or collective leave on Lebaran Hajj 2023 was to encourage the economy in the community.

"Yes, that's especially the day, it does take more time to encourage the economy, especially in the regions, to make it even better," said President Jokowi at Parungpung Market, Bogor, West Java, Wednesday, June 21.

According to him, the addition of holidays on Lebaran Hajj can increase tourism activities in the regions. Therefore, the government finally decided to add holidays on Eid al-Fitr.

The determination of the holiday was signed by the Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah, and Menpan RB Abdullah Azwar Anas in Joint Decree Number 624 of 2023, Number 2 of 2023, and Number 2 of 2023 concerning the Second Amendment to the Joint Decree of the Minister of Religion, Minister of Manpower, and Menpan RB Number 1066 of 2022, Number 3 of 2022, and Number 3 of 2022 concerning National Holidays and Joint Leave of 2023.

"In order to increase community mobility, economic growth and tourism, as well as provide opportunities for children to be together with their parents during school holidays on Eid al-Adha 2023, it is necessary to make changes to joint leave in 2023," said the contents of the SKB.

On Tuesday, June 20, Menpan RB Abdullah Azwar Anas said that the Eid al-Fitr holiday for 3 days was not solely due to differences in the determination of Eid al-Adha between the government and the Muhammadiyah religious community organizations (ormas), but also to create quality for public holidays and families to increase.

"So, it's not just because there are two Eid al-Adha holidays on different days. This is a holiday season for children so that quality time from ASN and also Indonesian people is important to gather with family," he said.
