The Governor of East Java (Jatim) Khofifah Indar Parawansa stated that the province he leads experienced a budget surplus of Rp401.78 billion as audited by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).

"One of these surpluses is due to the realization of regional income which exceeds the target of up to 107.92 percent," Khofifah said in a written statement, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 6.

Governor Khofifah revealed that the surplus was realized thanks to good cooperation between the executive and the legislature.

"This achievement is a form of synergy for all of us," he said when delivering a financial note to the draft East Java Provincial Regulation on accountability for the implementation of the regional budget (APBD) for the 2022 fiscal year at the Plenary Meeting at the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) building. ) East Java Surabaya on June 5, 2023.

Governor Khofifah explained, throughout 2022 the realization of regional income reached IDR 31.9 trillion or 107.92 percent of the targeted amount of IDR 29.56 trillion.

The amount of the regional revenue surplus comes from local revenue (PAD) of Rp. 21.25 trillion or 117.29 percent of the target of Rp. 18.12 trillion, consisting of regional taxes, regional levies, managed regional assets separated and other legitimate regional income.

Governor Khofifah explained, apart from PAD, revenue also came from transfer revenues of Rp. 10.56 trillion or 92.68 percent of the target. Among them came from central government transfer income, balance funds and other central government transfer revenues and regional incentive funds.

Furthermore, it came from other legitimate regional income of Rp. 84.38 billion or 192.46 percent of the target.

"This figure is supported by grant income and others in accordance with the provisions of the legislation," he said.

Khofifah emphasized that the realization of regional spending in 2022 reached more than IDR 31.5 trillion or met 93.76 percent of the budgeted amount of IDR 33.6 trillion.

Consisting of the realization of operating spending of Rp. 20.88 trillion, the realization of capital expenditures of Rp. 2.5 trillion, the realization of unexpected expenditures of Rp. 116.31 billion or 16.40 percent of the budgeted Rp. 709.19 billion, and the realization of transfer expenditures of Rp. 7.99 trillion.

The former Minister of Social Affairs explained that the transfer expenditure consisted of spending on regional tax revenues to districts/cities amounting to Rp7.29 trillion and financial assistance expenditures of Rp699.22 billion.

"The East Java Provincial Government will still carry out firm and measured follow-up on the findings of the results of the BPK RI examination," he said again.
