NasDem Claims Cawapres Anies Baswedan Announced In A Matter Of Days

JAKARTA - The chairman of the NasDem DPP, Sugeng Suparwoto, revealed that officials of the Coalition for Amendments to Unity (KPP) party will hold a meeting in the near future to announce the prospective vice presidential candidate (cawapres) who will accompany Anies Baswedan.

"Later in a day or two, there will be a surprise. Party leaders will soon gather in a day or two. Maybe tomorrow it will be," said Sugeng, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 30.

Sugeng said the surprise would appear in the next one or two days. According to Sugeng, the figure of Vice President Anies Baswedan will later surprise many parties.

"Tonight, tomorrow night. Between two nights. One, two days there will be a surprise for the vice president," he explained.

Even so, Sugeng could not say in more detail the characteristics of the vice presidential candidate Anies Baswedan to be chosen.

"There is no clue yet, now that's part of the dynamics. Later there will be no momentum of surprise, but really, because of what? Everything needs to be careful, right? This is reciprocal," he added.

Earlier on Sunday (21/5), Anies Baswedan admitted that he had pocketed a number of names of candidates for the vice president who would accompany him in the 2024 election. However, Anies still could not explain further regarding the prospective vice presidential candidate he chose.
