KPU Invites The Public To Complain DKI Babileg Data In SILON That Is Not In Accordance With The Rules

The General Election Commission (KPU) of DKI Jakarta Province has invited the public to monitor the suitability of the data for prospective members of the DKI DPRD and DPD Jakarta legislative candidates during the registration process until the determination of the 2024 election legislative candidates.

Commissioner of the DKI KPU for Election Implementation Technical Affairs, Nurdin said, this data will be published through SILON or Candidacy Information System.

SILON is an application belonging to the KPU in the form of data collection on personal data uploaded by every prospective election participant. SILON can be accessed by the public as a form of transparency of election data.

"In this verification process, we will see the suitability of the data submitted through the SILON application. We also ask for public responses that continue until DCT (fixed candidate list) is determined," Nurdin told reporters, Tuesday, May 16.

The community, continued Nurdin, could check whether the legislators who registered met their requirements as election participants or not.

Based on Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections, the requirement for council members is to have the lowest education history is to graduate from High School (SMA) or equivalent.

Then, legislative candidates must be at least 21 years old or older, domiciled in Indonesia, can speak, read, and write in Indonesian, be physically, mentally, and free from narcotics abuse.

Then, heads or deputy regional heads, state civil servants, TNI, Polri, BUMN/BUMD employees or employees of other state institutions who want to become legislative candidates, must resign first when registering.

Furthermore, the legislative candidate has never been sentenced to prison based on a court decision that has obtained permanent legal force for committing a criminal act that is threatened with imprisonment of five years or more, except openly and honestly conveying to the public that he is a former convict.

Along with that, in the administrative verification stage, the KPU will synchronize the data of prospective candidates registered with the KPU with the data in SILON. The KPU will also follow up on public complaints regarding the suitability of the data in the SILON.

"After June 23 to June 26, we will convey it to political parties as a result of administrative verification. If the person concerned does not meet the requirements or BMS, the party must immediately complete it until its status meets the requirements or MS," he said.

"Then from June 26 to July 9, the political parties carried out the repair process. From there, then we carried out the repair verification process. If in the repair verification process data is still not eligible, then we will cross out the name," he concluded.
