Opie Batfeny Debuts Through Single Sickness You Give

JAKARTA - Opie Batfeny became the newest male soloist to be introduced to Musica Studios music. He debuted with the song Pain that You gave on September 20.

Coming from the easternmost city of Indonesia, Merauke, the label describes Opie Batfeny as having a strong and unique vocal character.

Meanwhile, Opie's single debut describes the painful journey of someone who is heartbroken. When his love and belief were destroyed by the betrayal of his partner's infidelity.

Opie collaborated with Albert Felubun in compiling the lyrics. They take inspiration from parallel love stories they have experienced.

The lyrics themselves dig deep into sadness and tell the promises of a common future, but only to witness it destroyed after third-person disturbances.

Meanwhile, for the musical composition, Opie Batfeny was assisted by the Artist and Repertoire (A&R) team from Musica Studios.

While I was in Papua, the A&R team was always patient and continued to coordinate about the music I wanted. I was also assisted by Icha Wisha as the vocal director as well as backing vocals, so that she made this song life," said Opie Batfeny in her statement, Friday, September 22.

For music video matters, Opie did a shooting process in Surabaya. He told how he cried while filming.

"While filming the rain, many people don't know that I actually cried when I was on the cam, because it was covered by the water that fell and dripped on my face and all over my body. That's what I think is the most memorable," said Opie.

For information, Opie Batfeny once won the Maxstream TV competition which was held by Telkomsel in 2021-2022. This victory opened the door for him to cover the artist's songs made by Musica Studios, which ultimately led to cooperation with the label.

"Being a source of pride for me, my family and the whole Merauke community can join Musica Studios. May God give me the opportunity to be one of the great musicians who have a positive impact and his works can be accepted by all Indonesian music lovers," said Opie.
