JAKARTA - After a long wait, Acura officially introduced its first electric car, ZDX, at a recent US Monterey Car Week.
As previously reported, the 2024 Acura ZDX electric car carries an exterior design inspired by the Acura Precision EV Concept, an electric car concept that was previously exhibited.
The 2024 Acura ZDX model will be available in two variants, namely the standard variant and the highest variant, Type S. These two variants will offer advanced technology, including integration with Google's systems through applications and services.
Assistant Vice President of Acura National Sales, Emile Korkor, said that the birth of Acura ZDX is a momentum for the brand to commit to emission-free energy in the future.
"This signifies our transition to a future of zero emissions and demonstrates our commitment to "Precision Craft Performance" in the electrification era," Emile said in his official statement, Thursday, recently.
Inspired by Acura Precision EV Concept, Acura ZDX is designed by a division of Acura Design Studio in Los Angeles, USA. Designed with a long wheelbase with a sleek silhouette, ZDX's design reflects a new era from Acura.
This can be seen clearly in the front fascia accompanied by the iconic lighting of the DRL LED Jewel Eye from the brand. The front looks luxurious with a goal-shaped pentagon diamond that arises in 3D and can turn on.
It also provides the top level comfort with a 22-inch HD digital screen that combines an 11-inch cluster display with an integrated 11-inch central information display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Acura also collaborated with Bang & Olufsen, a premium audio system manufacturer from Denmark. Through this partnership, the highest quality audio system from Bang & Olufsen will be part of the 2024 Acura ZDX model.
This collaboration doesn't just happen, because Acura and Bang & Olufsen have a common vision. Bang & Olufsen has long been known as a brand that presents a leading audio system that provides convenience for its users.
Using a platform from General Motors (GM), namely Ultium, Acura ZDX is equipped by extraordinary performance as the manufacturer's first electric vehicle.

For the ZDX A-Spec variant, equipped with a rear electric motor drive that can produce around 340 dk of power. This type is also available in all-wheel drive configurations and double electric motors.
Then there is Type S as the highest variant of ZDX equipped with up to 500 dk of power, making it the most powerful car ever produced by Acura that offers a different driving experience.
These two variants are equipped with 102 kWh of battery which makes ZDX A-Spec travel with a distance of 506 km to 523 km. Meanwhile, the Type S variant is capable of running up to 463 km in one charge.
Although price certainty has not been disclosed, the Honda subsidiary will open prices for Acura ZDX for around US$60,000 or equivalent to Rp922.2 million. This car will be delivered to customers in the US and Canada in early 2024.
