Ferry Irawan Freed After 7 Months In Detention For Domestic Violence Case

JAKARTA - Ferry Irawan has been released from detention after being found guilty of a domestic violence (KDRT) which was decided by the judges of the Kediri District Court on May 25.

Jeffry Simatupang as his attorney stated that Ferry Irawan had been released from the Class II A Prison in Kediri, East Java to coincide with the celebration of Indonesia's 78th independence on August 17 yesterday.

"Yes, Mr. Ferry was released yesterday," said Jeffry Simatupang via text message to VOI on Friday, August 18.

It is known that Ferry Irawan, who has been detained since January 16, has since been named a suspect in the domestic violence against Venna Melinda. When the verdict was handed down, he was sentenced to 1 year in prison.

Ferry Irawan's release before being detained for a year was known to be due to the remission of Independence Day he received. However, Jeffry Simatupang did not provide details regarding the remission his client received.

Jeffry Simatupang hopes for prayers from many parties to Ferry Irawan. He stated that his client had already been held accountable for what had happened at trial.

"The point is just pray for the best. And Mr. Ferry has already accounted for everything in front of the trial. Currently Mr. Ferry is an independent person," said Jeffry.

The attorney said that his client is currently trying to bury the difficult times faced as a result of the domestic violence case. Now Ferry Irawan chooses to focus on reorganizing his career.

"And it needs to be underlined, Mr. Ferry will focus more on managing himself and his career. Once again, please pray, may the best be given by God," said Jeffry Simatupang.

"Regarding the case that Mr. Ferry has faced, Mr. Ferry has buried these difficult times and no longer wants to focus on these things," he added.

Jeffry Simatupang also uploaded Ferry Irawan's release moment on his Instagram Story, which was re-uploaded by Ferry Irawan.

"Today, Mr. Ferry celebrates Indonesia's independence with independence from detention," said Jeffry Simatupang.

"Alhamdulillah, please pray from everyone," said Ferry Irawan.

For information, Ferry Irawan has also been officially declared divorced from Venna Melinda by the South Jakarta Religious Court on August 3.
