Ready To Film, Guna-Guna Young Wife Combining Lulu Tobing With Abidzar Al Ghifari

JAKARTA - The production house Falcon Pictures is preparing to remake the film Guna-Guna Istri Muda. The original version of the film was released in 1977, directed by BZ Kadaryono.

Frederica as the producer said that Guna-Guna Young Wife has an interesting storyline. Therefore, he is interested in making a remake version.

"The development of Guna-Guna Young Wife has been since 2 years ago. We see the potential story is interesting, and we want to remix it to the current version more modernly," Frederica said during a press conference in Duren Tiga, South Jakarta on Thursday, July 13.

"We all know that the story has an interesting combination, starting from horror and there is an actor's story too. In terms of stories it is very strong and can be an extraordinary film," he continued.

In the remake version, director Robby Ertanto said that there would be an update. He has done research to see the usable phenomena among the community today.

The film is what I made the concept of settings in 2023. Through research, there are also many people who use witchcraft, from the upper class to the lower class. To attract people, many use these intermediaries," said Robby.

Regarding the selection of players involved, Robby said that he had had in-depth discussions with the producer. The reason is, he wants every character to be played by the right actor. Robby also mentioned that the approach when choosing players is quite different from usual.

"When discussing with Mrs. Erica (Frederica), we thought that every character should be played by the right person," said Robby.

"We also approach the players when offering this project to them quite differently, not what we continue to offer them. For this film, we approach every actor one by one, we invite a discussion. We convey our views and they also convey their views," he added.

Meanwhile, the actors who will play in Guna-Guna Young Wives have an interesting combination. Senior actors such as Anjasmara, Lulu Tobing, Donny Damara and Happy Salma, will compete acting with young actors such as Carissa Perusset, Abidzar Al Ghifari, Elang El Gibran, Fergie Brittany, Ara Ajisiwi, to TJ Ruth.

The characters of Guna-Guna Young Wife will start filming on 20 July. Anjasmara, who was appointed as one of the main characters, said she was proud to be involved. He is happy with the composition of the players presented.

"It's great to be able to meet Falcon again, working with Falcon again, especially with friends in his time (senior actors). I'm also splashed in new energy from young actors here," concluded Anjasmara.
