President Xi Jinping: The US-China Historical Trend Of Living Together Will Not Change Peacefully
JAKARTA - Chinese President Xi Jinping said China is ready to become a partner and friend of the United States, where there is plenty of room for bilateral cooperation, when meeting with American executives in San Francisco, Wednesday.
President Xi attended dinner with US executives on the sidelines of the APEC summit, having previously met President Joe Biden.
In his speech, President Xi said the world needed China and the United States to work together, while viewing Beijing as a threat to play zero-sum against it was wrong.
"Whatever developments are reached, China will never pursue hegemony or expansion, and will never impose its will on other countries. China is not seeking influence and will not wage a cold war or hot war with anyone," President Xi said. November 16.
"No matter how the global landscape develops, the historical trend of peaceful coexistence between China and the United States will not change," he assured the audience.
In addition to being attended by US Trade Minister Gina Raimondo and a number of senior officials of Uncle Sam's country, a number of executives who attended including Team Cook from Apple, Rena Fink from BlackRock, Hock Tan from Broadcom, Ray Dalio from Bridgewater Associates and Albert Bourla from Pfizer.
It said this dinner was an opportunity for companies to hear directly from Chinese leaders, as they sought ways to tackle China's economic slowdown, a US push to "reduce risk" several American supply chains to stay away from China to the uncertainty caused by China's security regulatory expansion.

Meanwhile, analysts say Xi's speech will not change America's business sentiment towards China significantly.
