Two Cases Of International Network Drugs Revealed By Police And Soetta Customs And Excise

TANGERANG - Two cases of international network narcotics with four suspects were arrested by a joint team of Customs and Excise and Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police (Soetta).

"This joint operation was able to secure four suspects from the international narcotics network who were arrested in several separate places from July 18, 2023 to August 6, 2023," said Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Customs Office, Gatot Sugeng Wibowo, in a statement received, Thursday, October 26.

Gatot said in the first case, the joint team secured 3.4 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine in a cake-making machine. Then 4,064 Happy Five and 494.79 grams of Ketamina pills were stored in passenger trunks.

"Methamphetamine type I narcotics weighing 3,428 grams. Officers also succeeded in taking action on October 3, 2023 against a Malaysian passenger who was caught hiding 4,064 pills of Happy Five and 494.79 grams of Ketamina," he said.

Four people each had the initials UMY, DR and HK, and EB. The suspect EB is an Iranian citizen.

Gatot said that the disclosure of this case stems from intelligence information related to the entry of packages of international methamphetamine-type narcotics through Soekarno-Hatta Airport with EB recipients. From the information obtained, drugs were smuggled in a cake-making machine.

"The suspected shipment package arrived on July 18, 2023 at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport with an alert crane or cake maker weighing 48 Kg. During an in-depth examination of the machine, officers found white powder in the engine's base iron plate," he said.

Gatot explained that EB was controlled by M and H who were suspected of being abroad. The perpetrator asked EB to bring a package of shipments to a villa in the Puncak area, West Java.
