Choi Hyun Wook Apologizes After Being Caught Disposing Of Cigarettes Carelessly

JAKARTA - Choi Hyun Wook was involved in a recent controversy. The actor was caught making cigarette butts carelessly on the streets of Seoul which was recorded in a video.

This started when a netizen uploaded a video of Choi Hyun Wook at Apgujeong Rodeo, Seoul. He was seen holding a woman's hand while smoking.

Then, Choi Hyun Wook made his cigarette near the car park. The video immediately received criticism from netizens.

Choi Hyun Wook's agency, Gold Medalist, released a statement about their artist. The young actor also wrote a letter of apology to the public.

"Recently, while chatting with a relative on the street, Choi Hyun Wook smoked and threw away his cigarettes inappropriately," said Gold Medalist confirming the netizem video.

"He did an act that made other people uncomfortable. Choi Hyun Wook admitted his mistake and reflected on his actions. We apologize to all those who feel disappointed," said the agency again.

Separately, Choi Hyun Wook wrote an apology letter that was shared through his personal social media.

"Hello, this is Choi Hyun Wook. First, I want to apologize to fans for making mistakes," wrote Choi Hyun Wook.

"Even though I have to take responsibility at all times, I let a lot of people with my actions down. I apologize once again to drama directors, writers, staff, fellow actors, and everyone I work with."

"I accept the criticism and advice you give and I will reflect and work hard to show my mature side going forward," concluded Choi Hyun Wook.

This controversy was revealed in the midst of Choi Hyun Wook's new drama, Twinkling Watermelon is currently airing. Therefore, he apologized to the drama crew because this case might have an impact on the drama.
