The Trans Semarang Feeder Route Is Reviewed Because It Is Not Optimal And Constrained

SEMARANG In order to optimize the service and ease of community mobility, the Semarang City Transportation Service reviewed the route of the running Trans Semarang "feeder" fleet.

"For this year's 'feeder'. In the future, we will review all BRT (Bus Rapid Transit Trans Semarang) routes," said Acting Head of Semarang City Transportation Agency Danang Kurniawan, Saturday, October 1.

According to him, the re-examine of the "feeder" route is intended to improve mass transportation services, given the existence of a "feeder" connecting residential areas with the Trans Semarang BRT corridor.

He admitted, so far the operation of the "feeder" route has been going well, but it does need to be reviewed in line with the development of residential areas, including their relation to distance and financing.

"Meanwhile, we still have some that we have to fix first. Because it is related to the distance and financing. We will'rerouting'. Everything, yes, to make it more effective," he said.

However, he said, there are no plans to add new Trans Semarang routes or corridors so far.

To be sure, Danang explained that transportation services must experience a change in pattern, including being influenced by the rise of new traffic, new settlements, and new economic areas.

"There may be new traffic revivals, new settlements, maybe there are schools, new economic activities. There requires a 'back up' for transportation transportation," he said.

Currently, BRT Trans Semarang serves eight corridors, namely Corridor I Mangkang-Penggaron PP, Corridor II serves Terboyo-Sisesemut, Corridor III Tanjung Mas-Jatingaleh.

Corridor IV serves Tawang Stations, Corridor V serves the Meteseh-PRPP route, Corridor VII Terboyo-Balai Semarang PP City, and Corridor VIII for the Fifth Intersection.

For "feeders", there are currently four routes, namely Feeder 1 serving Ngaliyan-Dr. Suratmo, Feeder 2 serving Terboyo-Rusunawa Kudu, Feeder 3 for Penggaron-Banyumanik, and Feeder 4 for Jatibarang-Gunungpati routes.
