Fishermen Drowning As A Result Of Being Wrapped In A Anchor Rope In Gili Banta NTB Has Not Been Found
The Joint SAR Team continues to search for a fisherman who drowned after being wrapped in an anchor while looking for fish in the waters of Gili Banta's small island, Bima, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
"The drowning victim was caused by a boat used with his friend being hit by high waves until it capsized and sank. Firdaus (28) is still being searched, while Toto (30) managed to survive the unfortunate incident," said Head of the Mataram SAR Office, Lalu Wahyu Efendi in Mataram, NTB, Tuesday 5 September, confiscated by Antara.
He said, after receiving information, the Joint SAR team was dispatched to conduct a search around the scene.
"We did a search at the location of the incident and the waters around," said Wahyu. He explained that the victim's belongings were found in the waters of Kelapa Island, Lambbu District, Bima Regency. Smuggling at the suspected location was also carried out, but the victim could not be found.
"Today, a foam (styrofoam) was found used by the victim to save himself," he said.
"Until 18.00 WITA has not yielded results, the search has been temporarily suspended and will resume tomorrow morning," he continued.

According to information from the police, the two fishermen were looking for fish on Monday, September 4. At the time of the incident, the victim's leg was wrapped in an anchor, so he asked his colleague for a knife to cut the anchor rope that tied the victim's leg.
"But unfortunately, Firdaus could not be helped because in a short time he drowned," he said.
