According to Andy, victims of forced disappearances are entitled to the truth of incidents of human rights violations.
"The part of this right to truth is of course a legal process and breaking impunity, and the most important thing is that the guarantee of events does not repeat itself in the future," he said.
Andy emphasized that Komnas Perempuan fully supports the ratification of this convention as an effort to provide legal certainty for victims of forced disappearances and their families.
"The family of the victim of forced disappearance also has the right to know the fate of his family, whether alive or dead and if he has died, the family knows where his grave is, and performs worship according to his belief as a way to cover the psychological downturn. The certainty of the status of the person removed is also important as a basis for population administration," he said.
