JAKARTA - Sport has the same impact as the consumption of chemical drugs in treating premature ejaculation, according to a new study published in the journal Trends in Urology and Men's Health. The review looked at 54 studies and nearly 3,500 participants to test the effectiveness of non-drug interventions for premature ejaculation.
"We know early ejaculation is a common complaint experienced by men around the world. The lack of a clear definition of what early ejaculation or not premature ejaculation has an impact on treatment methods and there are few effective drugs available," said senior author Lee Smith, PhD, professor of public health at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, UK, in a press release.
The authors found that regular physical activity was able to increase the duration of men longer in bed. For example, a study with 105 participants found that running for 30 minutes five times a week helps extend latency time (time until ejaculation occurs) the same as consuming dapoxetine, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor drug (SSRI) approved for use in early ejaculation in the United States.

Men who perform pelvic base exercises increase latency time from an average of 1 minute to 3 minutes.
