Raid KKB Hideouts, Police Arrest 9 People To Various Weapons

JAKARTA - The Cartenz Peace Task Force and the Yahukimo Police, Papua, raided a house suspected of being a hiding place for the Armed Criminal Group (KKB). From the house it was found and confiscated 9 people suspected of being KKB and various sharp weapons and firearms (senpi).

"From the results of the search at the location, personnel managed to secure 9 people," said Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo in his statement, Thursday, May 4.

The alleged KKB members had the initials SL, NM, JS, ES, HS, LS, LS, GS, and SS. During the raid, they were inside the house which was located at Jalan Paradiso Behind the Anggruk complex, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency.

In addition, during the raid on Thursday, May 4 at around 03.00 WIT, a number of weapons were also seized. In fact, there are also assembled rifles.

"A number of personal documents, luggage such as bags, electronic devices, sharp weapons in the form of arrows, axes, machetes, knives, scissors, air rifles and tools and 1 (one) homemade weapon were successfully secured with the nine people," said Benny.

Meanwhile, Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri appreciated the success of his staff. The raid was said to be one of the decisive steps taken by the National Police to eradicate separsitis groups in Papua.

"This is of course thanks to the hard work of members in the field. We are optimistic that maximum law enforcement efforts against KKB are carried out to stop heinous crimes committed by the KKB to its roots," said Fakhiri.
