BPS Records Three Sectors Of Alami Manufacturer Price Index Increases 0.75 Percent

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded a combined three-sector Producer Price Index (IHP), namely the agriculture, mining and quarrying sector, and the processing industry in the third quarter of 2023, up 0.08 percent.

The data is compared to the second quarter of 2023 on a monthly basis or quarter on quarter (qoq) and is up 0.75 percent against the third quarter of 2022 on an annual basis or year on year (yoy).

Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics of BPS, Pudji Ismartini, said that the IHP for the agricultural sector in the third quarter of 2023 rose 0.83 percent to the second quarter of 2023 (qoq) and rose 6.91 percent to the third quarter of 2022 (yoy).

"The IHP of the mining and excavation sector in the third quarter of 2023 fell 3.77 percent compared to the second quarter of 2023 (qoq) and decreased 17.48 percent to the third quarter of 2022 (yoy). Meanwhile, the IHP of the manufacturing sector in the third quarter of 2023 rose 0.68 percent to the second quarter of 2023 (qoq) and rose 3.57 percent to the third quarter of 2022 (yoy)," he explained in a release from BPS Wednesday, November 1.

Meanwhile, the IHP for the electricity and gas procurement sector in the third quarter of 2023 rose 0.39 percent compared to the second quarter of 2023 (qoq) and against the third quarter of 2022 (yoy) rose 1.50 percent.

Pudji said that the IHP for the water management sector in the third quarter of 2023 rose 0.25 percent compared to the second quarter of 2023 (qoq) and rose 0.93 percent to the third quarter of 2022 (yoy).

Furthermore, the IHP for the passenger transport sector in the third quarter of 2023 rose 0.86 percent to the second quarter of 2023 (qoq) and to the third quarter of 2022 (yoy) rose 4.83 percent.

Then, the IHP for the accommodation and food and drink supply sector in the third quarter of 2023 rose 0.20 percent to the second quarter of 2023 (qoq) and rose 1.11 percent to the third quarter of 2022 (yoy).

Meanwhile, the IHP for the education services sector in the third quarter of 2023 increased by 1.41 percent to the second quarter of 2023 (qoq) and to the third quarter of 2022 (yoy) increased by 2.03 percent.

"The IHP of the health services sector in the third quarter of 2023 rose 1.22 percent to the second quarter of 2023 (qoq) and rose 5.10 percent to the third quarter of 2022 (yoy).
