JAKARTA - Elon Musk is acting again by locking Twitter. Now, anyone who wants to see someone's tweets has to log in to their account first.
This incident started when many Twitter users noticed their tweets and profiles were not accessible through web browsers on desktop and mobile devices, unless they were logged in to their accounts.
It's claimed, in an effort to stop data scrapers accessing tweet data. Basically, this new policy blocks all Twitter content from unregistered visitors.
However, because many complained, Musk as the owner of Twitter stated that the change was only temporary.
"Temporary emergency measure. We've got so much data looted it's degrading the service for regular users!" Musk tweeted.
Temporary emergency measure. We were getting data pillaged so much that it was degrading service for normal users!

This move by Twitter was allegedly because Musk previously stated that he disagreed with OpenAI using its platform data to train ChatGPT, as quoted from Mashable, Saturday, July 1.
In December last year, shortly after acquiring Twitter, Musk cut off OpenAI's access to the platform's data because he felt the company was not paying.
However, since then, OpenAI has launched a plugin for ChatGPT where users can delete information from any website, including Twitter.
