JAKARTA - Ridho, a teenager in Cipete who was the victim of beating residents for being accused of stealing motorbikes, forgives the perpetrators who beat him. He realized that there was a misunderstanding between the residents and himself.

After this case continued at the police station, it was known the actual chronology of how Ridho was attacked by residents, even though he himself became a victim of a cellphone robbery.

The head of the local RW named Eko Raharjo explained that residents thought Ridho was a motorcycle thief, because residents saw Ridho riding with two perpetrators of cellphone robbery.

Ridho explained that at that time he met two men who accused him of stealing a cellphone. Ridho was also asked by the two perpetrators to ride a Honda Scoopy motorbike. The two perpetrators rode the victim somewhere. Arriving at the location, Ridho was asked to show his cellphone.

"So that's the mode. After being carried by three of them, he sat in the back. Arriving at one of the alleys, the perpetrator said, 'try to show the cellphone. (Then after being shown) his cellphone (Ridho) was immediately taken away," said Eko when met at his office, Wednesday, July 26.

The perpetrator who had managed to steal Ridho's cellphone immediately fled. Ridho also tried to chase and shouted thief.

But unfortunately, instead of asking for help to be helped chase the perpetrators, Ridho was arrested by residents for being accused of stealing a motorbike.

"Because his cellphone was taken away, he shouted. 'Thief', well, the residents got out right. When they left, the residents were confused about which thief. They caught the victim and were beaten," he said.

"So when the ride was caught on CCTV cameras, the motorbike that CCTV was seen running away, the two perpetrators. Followed by Ridho shouting the thief, he was chasing. So that's where the residents might only see the scene, they knew that Ridho's residents conspired with the two people, they were secured by the residents," he added.

In addition, residents who abuse have the assumption that people with tattoos are the perpetrators of crimes.

"Because tattoos are identical to prisoners, the image is also bad if there are tattoos, especially in the hands. Maybe there are residents who still think like that," he said.

Eko said that currently his party is still recording residents involved in the persecution based on videos circulating on social media.

"Well, the possibility in the video is that the duration is short, the one who hits and doesn't hit the video. That's why it will develop, from one perpetrator to another," said Eko.

Eko explained that his party had held a meeting with related parties in the case. During the meeting, Ridho said that this problem was resolved amicably. However, the resident concerned must restore the name of Ridho, who is considered a motorcycle thief.
