INDRAMAYU - The Indramayu Resort Police (Polres), West Java, received a report from the Indramayu forum (FIM) regarding illegal "fund raising" in the management of zakat, infaq, and shodaqoh (ZIS) led by Ponpes Al Zaytun Panji Gumilang, as well as asking for information and evidence.

"We received a complaint from the FIM, which reported the alleged crime by Panji Gumilang," said Indramayu Police Chief AKBP Fahri Siregar as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 18.

AKBP Fahri said the report from the FIM regarding the alleged illegal "fund-raising" crime in the management of zakat, infaq, and shodaqoh by the leadership of Ponoes Al Zaytun, had been received by the Indramayu Police, where in the report submitted by the FIM, Panji Gumilang was suspected of violating Law Number 23 of 2011.

Fahri explained that regarding the report, his party would wait for further information from the reporter, and the reporter promised to provide information and the necessary evidence.

"We have not asked for information from the reporter, because the reporter has just sent a complaint letter. We will also ask for a number of evidences to strengthen the report," he said.

It is confirmed that the police chief, all follow-up processes for alleged criminal acts against the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School and Panji Gumilang will be carried out by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.

Regarding the FIM's report, the Indramayu Police must coordinate with the West Java Regional Police.

The police will also conduct an in-depth investigation into the report by asking for further information, including evidence that supports the alleged criminal act reported.

"If there are allegations of a criminal act, then we will coordinate it with the Regional Police to then hand it over to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police," he said.
