The Revitalization Of The Flower Garden Stadium Is Targeted To Be Completed In 2024

The revitalization of the two-hectare Flower Garden Stadium which is currently underway and is the headquarters of the Medan PSMS football club targeted for completion in 2024. "God willing, the revitalization of the Flower Garden Stadium will be completed in 2024 on the anniversary of Medan City," said Head of the Medan City Settlement and Spatial Planning Housing Office Endar Sutan Lubis in Medan, North Sumatra, Antara, Sunday, July 16. This revitalization project uses a budget scheme for the 2023 and 2024 Medan City Regional Budget for more than IDR 191.66 billion. This revitalization was carried out for the efforts of the Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution to fulfill the training facilities and infrastructure of athletes to realize the capital city of North Sumatra Province as an athlete city. The scope of work from the revitalization of the Flower Garden Stadium includes skate parks, mini sports buildings, tennis courts, volleyball courts, and soccer fields. Data from the Medan City Settlement and Spatial Planning Housing Agency stated that the Flower Garden Stadium was built on August 31, 1973 and operated on February 28, 1974. "If in the sub-district there is no sports field, then it is encouraged to find land. The mayor hopes that every sub-district has a sports field," he explained. In addition to supporting Medan City as an athlete city, said Endar, Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution also considered that sports fields are needed at this time. Because the sports field is a place for young people to gather and do positive things, so they don't fall into negative actions.

"It is possible that one of the causes of negative actions, such as robbery, brawls and motorcycle gangs due to the lack of creative facilities and infrastructure. One of them is sports fields," said Endar.
