There Are Thugs Mastering Illegal Parking, Central Jakarta Transportation Agency Urges PRJ Visitors To Park At Irti Monas

JAKARTA - Head of the Traffic and Transportation Operational Control Section of the Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept., Haryo Bagus Kusuma Dewa, explained that the illegal parking polemic was controlled by thugs outside the JIExpo Kemayoran area, which was feared to reappear during the 2023 Jakarta Fair event.

Haryo said that the government had prepared an official parking at Irti Monas. For people who park their vehicles at Irti Monas, they can continue their journey to the JIExpo Kemayoran area by using Transjakarta public transportation from Irti Monas.

"For parking bags, everything is actually directed at JIexpo, only if it doesn't accommodate it is actually directed to Irti Monas for cars, from the Transportation Agency. Yesterday Transjakarta has also submitted a 2C shuttle route from Balaikota to PRJ," said Haryo when contacted by VOI, Thursday, June 15.

Meanwhile, for the official motorbike parking lot, continued Haryo, you can also park at Irti Monas. However, since last years, usually two-wheeled vehicles are parked on several roads.

"Kami kan tugasnya terkait dengan lalu lintasnya, jadi kita tetap untuk persiapan tong sebagai antisipasi adanya parkir liar. Meskipun JIExpo itu parkirnya luas, kalau animonya tinggi ya tidak menampung juga untuk parkirnya," ujarnya.

Haryo appealed, to avoid illegal parking practices outside the JIExpo Kemayoran area, the people who visit the Jakarta Fair are advised to use public transportation.

"For routes, you can take the train or Transjakarta. For Transjakarta, there are four routes to the PRJ area. People are advised not to use private vehicles, they should use public transportation," he said.
