The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) invited 28 ambassador candidates (Dubes) and the consulate general (Konjen) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) to visit the PT Freeport Indonesia (PT FI) smelter construction project in the Java Integrated Industrial Port And Estate (JIIPE) area, Gresik Regency, East Java.
Expert Staff for Inter-Institutional Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Muhsin Syihab, said that his party invited the candidates for the head of representatives of the Republic of Indonesia to encourage economic diplomacy and investment, as well as through the effectiveness of the government downstream program.
"I am proud to be able to invite prospective ambassadors and candidates for the Indonesian consulate general to see firsthand the PT Freeport Indonesia smelter construction project in Gresik because it gets an explanation of the importance of this project, both from the economic, social and environmental aspects," said Muhsin as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 24.
According to him, this smelter construction project is an important part of efforts to translate policies from national leaders, namely the national downstream program.
"From this program, the international community will begin to pay attention to Indonesia, which is now starting to become economically independent," he said.
