West Java (Jabar) Governor Ridwan Kamil ordered to expand six hectares of the Sarimukti Final Disposal Site (TPA) in West Bandung Regency, which is now overcapacity. Currently, the land used in the Sarimukti TPA is 25 hectare with a capacity of two million tons per day. However, after the Lebaran holiday, the waste in the TPA located in Cipaat, West Bandung Regency, has soared sharply up to 15 million tons. In fact, there is still garbage that has not been transported in the four regions that utilized the Sarimukti TPA, namely Bandung City, Bandung Regency, West Bandung Regency, and Cimahi City. "The capacity is only to accommodate two million tons of waste, but now it has been 15 million tons," he said.

Ia berharap dengan perluasan lahan TPA Sarimukti persoalan sampah di wilayah Bandung Barat segera terselesaikan. Selain itu perluasan lahan tersebut juga untuk mencegah terjadinya longsor seperti di TPA Leuwigajah beberapa tahun lalu."Semoga secepatnya persoalan sampah ini selesai dengan perluasan lahan dan untuk mencegah kejadian longsor seperti di TPA Leuwigajah," tandasnya.
