7 Days Lost, 10-Year-Old Boy From Kediri Found Dead At The Bottom Of The River

KEDIRI - Muhammad Alvian 10-year-old boy, a resident of Sumberagung Village, Wates District, Kediri Regency, East Java, who was swept away in the river in the Kediri City area was found dead after seven days of searching.

The Chief Executive of the Kediri City BPBD, Indun Munawaroh, explained that the findings originated from residents who had voluntarily helped search for victims until the seventh day. The person concerned turned out to be at the bottom of the previous river, making it a bit difficult for the team to find.

"We received information from residents that the body of allegedly Alvian's younger brother was found. The team went to the location and evacuated the body and we took it to the Bhayangkara Hospital in Kediri," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 31.

He added that the victim was found about 3 kilometers from the starting point where he slipped with his mother and younger brother who were still four months old.

The victim's condition when it was discovered that the residents were half-body, while the other half were on the bottom of the river. It was also seen when the body was evacuated that there was sand on the body.

At Bhayangkara Hospital Kediri, the body was visum et repertum. In addition, the family who also accompanied him confirmed whether it was true that the body was Alvian. The victim can still be recognized from the underwear and t-shirts of the victim.

"We have confirmed it directly to the family who happened to be at Bhayangkara Hospital. We ask for confirmation of the truth of Alvian's sister's body and after the post-mortem, we will hand it over to the family and BPBD of Kediri Regency for proper burial," he said.

He also added that currently the body is in the funeral home and buried. The family was hit hard since the beginning of the incident, Saturday, March 25 evening. However, they tried to be sincere.

He and his team have also worked hard to find victims. In accordance with the SOP, the search was carried out for up to seven days.

He added that the search team had also been disbanded. He is relieved that now the victim has been found on the seventh day of the search, at the end of the SOP period.

Previously, Alvian and his mother and sister were swept away on Saturday night after slipping into the river with their younger siblings and mother near Gambiran Hospital, Kediri City. They slipped after a flood occurred due to heavy rains in the city of Kediri.

They are family with their father, mother and two children who initially rode motorbikes. However, their motorbikes were jammed due to flooding. Residents then helped repair the bicycle driven by the father.

Meanwhile, his wife and two children were waiting, but they didn't realize they were on the edge of the ditch so they fell and were carried away by the current of the water.

The victim's mother was rescued by residents, while her two children, Alvian and her four-month-old sister, were swept away. The victim's sister was found the next day, Sunday, March 26, dead and Alvian was found on Friday afternoon.
