JAKARTA - The United States racing division, Ford Performance, will officially take part in the legendary racing event, Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, with a modified van unit, Ford SuperVan 4.2.

In collaboration with the Stohl Advanced Research and Development (STARD) racing team, the van was specially designed to climb in the Hill Climb mountains.

Ford SuperVan 4.2 was born with a very aggressive design that can help cars produce a downward press style, making it easier for vans to achieve maximum performance.

The aerodynamic part that can help SuperVan 4.2 perform from a large front and rear wing splitter made of carbon fiber does not affect the amount of weight on the car. This car is a development version of the previous version, Ford SuperVan 4.

To optimize the pace of the car, Ford provides an impressive braking system with a brake disc made of carbon ceramics, as well as a FORged rim wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires.

In addition to enhanced aerodynamics, Ford Performance with STARD is also developing electric power performance by presenting three UHP 6-phase STARD electric motors with all-wheel drive (4WD).

By placing one electric motor in front and two electric motors behind, Ford SuperVan 4.2 can produce 1,400 dk of wild power and take advantage of the performance of a battery with a capacity of 600 kW which is sufficient to conquer mountains.

Equipped with three electric motors, large battery power and several aerodynamic components, the weight of SuperVan 4.2 is only 1,995 kg, as a result, the racing car can go up to 240 km/hour.

"Pikes Peak Hill Climbing presents the perfect opportunity to showcase Ford's electric vehicle technology and bring light to EV performance," said Mark Rushbrook, Global Director of Ford Performance Motorsports on Ford's official website, Wednesday, June 21.

The car will compete for the fastest time in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb by passing 156 bends with a hill height of 14,115 feet above sea level.

Ford SuperVan 4.2 will be driven by four-time Pikes Peak winner, Romain Dumas.
