Range Rover Jadul Equipped With Tesla Powertrain

JAKARTA - Tuning companies always have ideas to restore cars that have previously been produced, for example Inverted.

Inverted recently carried out a restoration project on the first generation Range Rover produced in 1969. However, what is unique to this project is the installation of Tesla's electric propulsion system.

The old Range Rover is equipped with a Tesla propulsion system consisting of an 80 kWh battery pack, reported by Motor1, Thursday, April 27.

Also equipped with the latest differential gear sets, oil pumps, and limited-slips, this Range Rover has improved its performance to 450 dk and peak torques reaching 600 Nm. This classic SUV can also go from 0 to 100 km/hour in about 5 seconds.

Although changes occur in the internal part, Inverted still maintains the driving system of all wheels in this Range Rover.

Beyond that, the company pinned the latest brakes from Alcon, a regulated shock-absorber package, anti-roll bars and stiffer springs.

Inverted also guarantees that the modified Range Rover can cover a distance of 321 km in one charge. The company also claims this charging is fast enough from 20 to 80 percent within 35 minutes.

Despite almost dismantling all parts of this retro crossover, Inverted has not changed the slightest in terms of exterior. Although, they display a modern feature, namely the LED headlights.

For the price, Inverted set a price of 225,000 pounds (a range of IDR 4.1 billion), this does not include taxes in British territory. The British tuning company also offers four-door Range Rovers, but they only assemble these modifications no more than six units per year.
