In Order To Get A Operation Permit, KCIC Invites The Ministry Of Transportation To First Test Fast Trains

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia-China (KCIC) together with the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation conducted the first test for the facilities and infrastructure of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train (KCJB). This test is part of a series of preparations for the operation of the high-speed train.

KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa said this assessment was carried out to obtain a permit for KCJB infrastructure operations from the Ministry of Transportation.

"To obtain a fast train infrastructure operation permit, a first test certificate is required through various testing stages," he said in Jakarta, Wednesday, July 26.

Furthermore, Eva said the testing stage was carried out starting from document design testing, physical design testing, until a function test was finally carried out.

Eva explained that the document design test is a process to check the suitability of project documents with the Minister of Transportation Regulation Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Implementation of High Speed Trains.

Meanwhile, the physical design test is checking the suitability of conditions in the field with project documents and Permenhub no. 7. The last one is a function test, namely testing the infrastructure function with various parameters that have been determined.

Two Testing Aspects

Eva said the rapid train infrastructure testing was divided into two aspects, namely road and building testing as well as testing operating facilities. Road and building testing includes the Fast Train line in the emplkase and plots of lanes, bridges, and tunnels.

As for the Fast Train route, the objects tested include rail, diesel, rail pads, compressors, and others. As for the testing of operating facilities, including signaling, telecommunications, and electricity.

Eva said the test was carried out by the Railway Testing Center of the Directorate General of Railways at the Ministry of Transportation and accompanied by KCIC and contractors for the construction of the high-speed rail project.

The rapid train infrastructure testing has started since June 12, 2023 and continues to this day in various operational areas of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train.
