President Jokowi Tells The Story Of Indonesia's Success In Through Pandemic Difficulties To Economic Impacts

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo invites all religious leaders, kiai, habib, ulama and students to sing remembrance of the Indonesian people ahead of the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia and be optimistic about realizing Indonesia Gold in 2045.

This was conveyed by Jokowi while attending the 78th Anniversary of the Indonesian Independence Day National Remembrance and Prayer, at the Merdeka Palace Courtyard, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 1.

"Together sing the remembrance, prayer, pleasure of Allah SWT and ask for protection and blessings so that this nation continues to advance for Advanced Indonesia and let us fill this independence with hard work, with optimism to realize Indonesia Gold in 2045," said President Jokowi as quoted by ANTARA.

Starting his remarks, President Jokowi stepped into the tense situation experienced throughout the world, including Indonesia's spread of COVID-19.

The President also said that at that time with Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and the ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, they thought when the spread of the virus and the pandemic would be over.

The President admitted that he could only try and surrender because of the COVID-19, which continues to grow in variants from Delta to Omicron.

"We are grateful, Alhamdulillah we can control, can manage the post-COVID economy and can return to normal in a very fast time," he said.

The President is also grateful that Indonesia is not a country that is the "patient" of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) because its economy is affected by the crisis caused by the pandemic.

In addition to COVID-19, Indonesia was also hit by a food and energy crisis due to the Ukraine-Russia war.

With the Indonesian situation still able to survive, President Jokowi asked not to forget to be grateful, and reminded the importance of mutual cooperation in all levels of society.

"I remember, those who were sick were isolated but their neighbors sent fruits. This is thanks to the mutual cooperation of all levels of society, COVID can be overcome and of course cannot be separated from our toughness, persistence, patience, tawakal in facing various challenges," said President Jokowi.

The 78th Anniversary of the National Remembrance and Prayer of Indonesia Merdeka is a routine agenda held every year on the first night of August.

The National Remembrance and Prayers are a series of commemorations of the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, which this year has the theme "Continue to Advance for Advanced Indonesia".
