SEC Accuses Richard Heart Of Deceiving Investors In Unregistered Crypto Offers

JAKARTA - On Monday, July 31, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) accused a businessman known as Richard Heart of raising more than US$1 billion (Rp15 trillion) in three offering of unregistered crypto assets and defrauding investors of US$12.1 million (Rp182.8 billion) to buy luxury including black diamonds weighing 555 carat.

In a lawsuit filed in Brooklyn federal court, the SEC stated that Heart, also known as Richard Schueler, is promoting its Hex token, the CreditX asset trading platform, and the PulseChain asset network on YouTube and other websites as a way to "large wealth."

The SEC accused Heart of using investor funds to buy McLaren and Ferrari sports cars, four Rolex watches, and "The Enigma", black diamonds purchased for 3.16 million British (IDR 61.2 billion) in auction and allegedly the world's largest black diamond.

According to the SEC, Heart, who is 43 years old, is a United States citizen suspected of living in Helsinki, Finland. He did not immediately respond to requests for comment via LinkedIn. Hex, PulseX, and PulseChain were also defendants in the lawsuit.

The lawsuit demands civil fines and unlawful returns of profits.
