9 Kiosks At Jibama Wamena Market Ludes Dilap Api, Jayawijaya Police Intervene To Conduct Investigation

PAPUA - Jayawijaya Resort Police (Polres) is still investigating a fire that scorched nine stalls at Jibama Market, Wamena, Papua Mountains, early Sunday morning this morning.Jayawijaya Police Chief AKBP Heri Wibowo said his members were still investigating the cause of the fire that scorched nine kiosks at Jibama Market, Wamena.The fire that occurred in Block 2 of Jibama Market began when witness YH who woke up saw a lot of smoke in his kiosk so that he woke witness ML who then woke up and left the stall which was already covered with smoke.While outside the kiosk, a fire was seen in Kiosk Number 3 belonging to the Constitutional Court, so the two witnesses tried to wake up the occupants of other kiosks, including the Constitutional Court.The fire quickly spread and scorched the surrounding kiosks and could only be extinguished at around 05.00 WIT."There were no casualties in the incident and it has not been confirmed how much was the loss," he said.The nine stalls that burned down belonged to Yunus Human (56), Munuagi Lengka (50), Mindena Kogoya (26), Edison (73), Tarsi Nanju (29), Muh Kasim (56), Bibit Slamet (42), Tima Yola (47), and Trikora (48).
"Members of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Jayawijaya Police are currently still investigating and processing the crime scene to reveal the cause of the fire at Jibama Market, Wamena," he told ANTARA.
