Labfor Polda East Java Investigate Cause Of Arjosari Pacitan Market Fire
The forensic team from the Forensic Laboratory Center of the East Java Police Branch was deployed to investigate the cause of the fire at Arjosari Market, Pacitan Regency.
The Labfor team from the East Java Regional Police reviewed the area suspected of being the starting point of the fire and continued to collect samples of charred objects from Tuesday (30/5) morning to noon.
The sampling process was carried out under strict supervision by the Pacitan Police.
"One by one the debris of the burning kiosk was checked by officers, samples were taken for further investigation at the forensic laboratory in Surabaya (East Java Police)," said Acting Head of Arjosari Police, Ipda Ferry Ardiyanto, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 30.
According to Ferry, the laboratory team first asked for statements from a number of witnesses, including traders, before continuing their investigation in the burning market location.
The focus of the investigation was then by examining one of Sudarmi's basic food stalls in the back block, because it was suspected of being the center of the fire.
"A number of evidences such as a stop contact and a fan that are strongly suspected of being the cause of the fire have been secured and will be taken to the laboratory," he said.

Meanwhile, the laboratory team worked to find forensic evidence related to the cause of the fire, the Pacitan Police Satreskrim continued to work on developing an investigation by examining additional witnesses.
The Arjosari Market fire, which is on the main route of Pacitan-Ponorogo, Pacitan Regency, caused 14 stalls to be engulfed in flames.
The incident that occurred on Sunday (28/5) that evening caused an uproar among residents. There were no casualties, but at least 14 stalls were burned down. Losses are estimated at more than Rp. 400 million.
