Fake Honeymaker In Central Kalimantan Arrested, Hundreds Of Bottles Confiscated
PALANGKA RAYA - The Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Lamandau Police, Central Kalimantan, has uncovered a case of making fake honey in the area.
Lamandau Police Chief AKBP Bronto Budiyono said in the disclosure of the case, the police arrested the two perpetrators suspected of making the honey.
"The two perpetrators who were detained in the West Kalimantan area, namely SM (46) and VD (26) are now both of them are also languishing in the detention house of the Lamandau Police," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 24.
The arrests were made on reports from residents of Penopa Village, Lamandau District, who felt cheated as a candidate to buy the honey on April 17, 2023.
In this case the police confiscated 107 honey bottles suspected of being fake with a bottle pack of 600 milli liters, 86 bottles of 460 liters and two units of Oppo brand cellphones, one savings book and one ATM card.
"The motive of the two perpetrators, namely SM, sold one bottle of real honey to the victim, after that VD came claiming to be an employee of the Madu company TJ and asked for as much honey as possible to the victim, then SM called claiming to be the company's boss and asked for honey," he continued.
Furthermore, continued Bronto after the victim made a payment and the allegedly fake honey was delivered to the victim's house. The victim called SM who claimed to be the boss of the Madu company TJ, apparently no longer active.
"For the fake honey, it is made from 20 kilograms of sugar, 5 kilograms of black bee honey and 10 liters of water," he explained.

Currently, the two perpetrators are at the Lamandau Police Station undergoing legal proceedings, both MS and VD perpetrators can be charged with Article 378 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 4 years in prison.
"For this incident, the victim suffered a loss of more than Rp. 31 million," said Bronto.
