Indonesian Navy Tests Defense Of Combat Training Beach In West Papua Waters, 4 KRI And Cannons Deployed
SORONG - The Indonesian Navy's (AL) combat training was held in the waters of Sele, Sorong Waters and the Pacific Ocean on May 23, 2023.
A number of defense equipment were deployed, including four warships from the Republic of Indonesia (KRI), namely KRI Teluk Wondama-527, KRI Layaran-854, KRI Albakora-867, and KRI Gulamah-869.
The CN-235 P-8304 fighter aircraft from the Indonesian Navy Aviation Center (Puspenerbal), and the Howitzer cannon were also deployed in the exercise led by the Commander of Fleet Command (Pangkoarmada) III Rear Admiral (Laksda) TNI Rachmad Jayadi.
According to Pangkoarmada III, this combat exercise aims to improve the professionalism of soldiers, then measure the readiness and combat capabilities of the troops and defense equipment under the control of Koarmada III.
"That way, the soldiers can increase tactical cooperation between elements of Koarmada III in carrying out marine combat actions," said Pangkoarmada III in a written broadcast, Wednesday, May 24, confiscated by Antara. Some of the materials provided in this combat exercise include marine warfare capabilities that include electronic warfare, surface anti-ships, anti-submarines, anti-aircraft attacks, mine warfare, and coastal defense operations.

On the coast of Saoka, Pangkoarmada III tested the ability of the Howitzer gun to dispel enemies who tried to enter the NKRI area from the coastal area. Pangkoarmada III said that the training for beach defense operations and glagaspur was a follow-up to the order of the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy, Admiral Muhammad Ali, who asked his staff to prepare Indonesian Navy soldiers who were ready to fight and professional in dealing with all threats.
