Bareskrim Polri To Dito Mahendra: Up To Wherever We Are Looking

JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri will look for the whereabouts of Mahendra Dito Sampurna alias Dito Mahendra in various ways. The goal is for him to be held accountable for his actions that violate the law.

"It's up to what it wants, until whenever we look to account for what is being done, the violations of the law are committed regarding the ownership of existing weapons," said Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Djuhandani Rahardjo Puro to reporters, Tuesday, May 16.

Currently, the way that has been done is to find his whereabouts by including Dito Mahendra's name on the wanted list (DPO). So, now he is a fugitive.

In addition, Dito Mahendra's status has been distributed to all regional police ranks. So, it is hoped that it will make it easier to find his whereabouts.

"In fact, we have conveyed several regional police to help find the person concerned," said Djuhandani.

Then, in the search process, investigators have also communicated with the families of the suspect in the alleged illegal possession of firearms (senpi). However, they admitted that they did not know where Dito Mahendra was.

However, Djuhandani emphasized that anyone who helps or participates in hiding suspects can be criminally charged.

The criminal snare is contained in Article 221 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code. In that article, the penalty is 9 months in prison.

"Of course, we also conveyed this from the start, if it is proven that someone is trying to hide it, there is also a criminal threat in itself," said Djuhandani.

As a reminder, Mahendra Dito Sampurna alias Dito Mahendra has been named a suspect in the alleged possession of 9 illegal firearms. In fact, he is now a fugitive from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.

His status as a fugitive is because Dito has never been present at the summons for examination either at the investigation or investigation stage.
