Indicator Survey Results: Public Satisfied With Homecoming Services And Eid Backflow 2023

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Political Indicators Survey Institute (IPI) released the results of a survey, where the public was satisfied with the homecoming and return flow service in Lebaran 2023 or Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijriah.

"In general, satisfaction with the implementation of the Eid homecoming in 2023 is 78 percent, an increase compared to 2022 of 73 percent. Even in the group of travelers, satisfaction with the implementation of homecoming is much higher by 89.5 percent," said IPI Executive Director Burhanuddin Muhtadi as quoted by Antara, Sunday, May 14.

He explained, nationally 31.3 percent of respondents went home to their hometowns, and 68.7 percent did not go home.

"This is similar to the government's prediction of around 100 million people, if a third of the total survey population, it means that around 67 million people claim to go home. If you add family and children, it's around 100 million," he explained.

Based on demographics and regions, he said, the highest level of satisfaction from respondents in the Central Java region and the Special Region of Yogyakarta was 87 percent, followed by DKI 86.9 percent, East Java 80 percent.

In addition, in general, the majority considered positive the condition of facilities and services during the homecoming/reversal flow of Eid.

The residents were mostly satisfied with the condition of traffic regulation of 81.8 percent, then public transportation of 73.4 percent, availability of fuel of 71.8 percent and the lowest was road conditions of 64.3 percent.

"The majority agree that going home in 2023 is smoother than in 2022, both in general residents and groups of travelers," he asserted.

The Indonesian Political Indicators Survey was conducted in the range of April 30 to May 6, 2023.

A total of 1,218 respondents were interviewed by telephone.

Error tolerance (margin of error) in the survey is approximately 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
