JK Hopes That There Will Be 3 Pairs Of Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidates In The 2024 Presidential Election
JAKARTA - Vice President for the 2004-2009 and 2014-2019 periods Jusuf Kalla (JK) assessed that a minimum of three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates (candidates) in the upcoming 2024 presidential election are needed so that democracy in the presidential election runs well.
"The political reality, the minimum is three and that's fine. In the past, when I was five, it was very good implementation," said JK when giving information to reporters after holding a meeting with the General Chairperson of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, at his residence in the South Jakarta area. reported by ANTARA, Saturday, May 6.
Even so, JK emphasized that all parties should prioritize efforts to ensure that democracy in the 2024 presidential election runs well, not focusing on depending on whether or not the implementation of the democratic party is good for the number of presidential and vice presidential pairs.
"This is democracy. We (Indonesia) are not the United States, where there are only two parties. We have a lot of parties. So if it's good, three. But not the number, but the democratic process is going well," said JK.

"The discussion has not yet discussed it (the target of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates carried by PKB), but basically there will be communication, interactions whose crystallization is still a month or two months away. We'll just have to wait for this political process. Of course, communication will definitely determine the final result or conclusion," explained Cak Imin.
