KIB's Discourse To Join KIR, Golkar: Great Coalition Creates Stable Government
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party DPP Ahmad Doli Kurnia said the discourse of forming a major coalition by combining the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) with the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KIR) could create a stable government in the future.
"It could be a political lesson that the big coalition of government, if built from the start and already able to find the common vision, the platform, this will be good, the upcoming government will be stable," said Doli, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, April 3.
According to him, by embracing great powers, it can expand the perspective and gather energy in building the Indonesian nation, which is a large country with a large population.
"The greater the synergy of political power, of course, will be expected to have greater energy to build the Indonesian nation in the future," he said.
Doli also called the formation of a large coalition as a strategy to widen opportunities for victory in the 2024 presidential election.
"To win, it requires quite a lot of energy. Well, that energy is what if as much as possible we can build a coalition with other parties," he said.
He said that currently political parties in KIB and the KIR Coalition continue to synergize in finalizing the concept of forming a major coalition to make the 2024 election a success.
"Certermining about what the basics can make us sit together and then it is agreed on a declaration, after the declaration, the work agendas will be re-established. So I think there will definitely be the next meetings to finalize it," he said.
The chairman of Commission II of the DPR said that the discourse on forming a grand coalition was an idea that was rolled out by the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party DPP Airlangga Hartarto.
"This is actually Airlangga's idea, which has now begun to be implemented and is starting to appear," said Doli.
