JAKARTA - Senin, 15 Maret, nominasi Oscar 2021 diumumkan pasangan Nick Jonas dan Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Acara penghargaan untuk industri perfilman ini mengalami penundaan akibat pandemi namun akhirnya memilih tanggal 25 April sebagai acara puncak.
Film yang masuk ke jajaran nominasi didominasi oleh produksi layanan streaming seperti Netflix serta Amazon. Di antaranya Mank, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Sound of Metal, dan masih banyak lainnya.
Beberapa rekor baru juga ditorehkan dalam nominasi Oscar ini seperti aktor Riz Ahmed yang menjadi aktor muslim pertama yang mendapat nominasi, begitu juga Youn Yuh-jung yang memperoleh nominasi pertamanya berkat film Minari.
