The company says itself is a generative AI-powered research assistant trained on Amazon's extensive product catalogs, customer reviews, community questions and information from all over the web to answer customer questions about products.

Rufus generates answers using relevant information from across Amazon and the web to help customers make better and more appropriate shopping decisions, Amazon wrote in its announcement.

Currently, farts are just rolling out in beta and start with a small number of customers in the US and will roll out to all customers in the US in the coming weeks. Amazon also promised to roll out more broadly to customers in stages.
