JAKARTA - A German defense electronics product manufacturer, Hensoldt, called artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics an area with investment opportunities. This was revealed in Capital Markets Day.

The company that produces radar for the IRIS-T air defense system supplied to Ukraine said on Wednesday 22 November that mergers and acquisitions are always important for its growth strategy.

"Investment opportunities arise, for example, in the field of artificial intelligence and analytics as well as in the service and integration business," it said in a statement.

According to the slide presentation of Capital Markets Day Hensoldt, the company plans to invest in AI development "in all businesses for all relevant products and solutions".

The company, whose orders have more than doubled since 2019 due to increased geopolitical instability worldwide, is considering acquisitions in consolidation efforts in Europe.

"With the increasing geopolitical tensions around the world, we are facing a time full of uncertainty and enormous need for defense and security technology," said Hensoldt CEO Thomas Mueller.

Last week, Hensoldt announced plans to increase capital to finance the acquisition of Germany's military service company, ESG.

The defense electronics specialist, which is partly owned by the country, also confirmed its annual and medium-term guidance in Capital Markets Day, adding that about 85% of 2024 revenue has been guaranteed by an order backlog worth 5.5 billion euros (Rp93.7 trillion).
