Ahead Of The Final, Leo/Daniel Learn The Astrup/Rasmussen Game Style

JAKARTA - Indonesian men's doubles Leo Rolly Carnando / Daniel Marthin studied Danish men's doubles style Kim Astrup / Anders Rasmussen ahead of the 2024 Daihatsu Indonesia Masters final.

"Surely we will study (the style of the opponent's game) tonight and tomorrow morning. Before the match we will prepare and will focus again," said Leo after the semifinal match which took place at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, early Sunday, quoting Antara.

Leo/Daniel sealed a place in the final after defeating Fajar/Rian through a three-game drama, 2-1 (19-21, 21-14 and 21-17) in the semifinals.

"We are very happy and certainly proud. Only we must not be arrogant. Anyway, we will try our best," said Leo.

Daniel revealed that the key to his victory against his senior Fajar/Rian lies in intense communication with Leo to remind each other of mistakes in the field.

"Earlier, we communicated with each other, reminding each other how to deal with (the opponent's attack) in the field. We also remind each other to pray to each other, hopefully, it will be carried out and praise God for winning," said Daniel.

Leo/Daniel are the only hope left for the Indonesian contingent to win the 2024 Indonesia Masters title.

After being in the men's singles number Anthony Sinisuka Ginting had to be eliminated in the semifinals, after losing to Canadian young badminton player Brian Yang and in the women's doubles number Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto fell to their knees from the Chinese pair as well as fourth seed Liu Sheng Shu/Tan Ning.

The final match between Leo/Daniel against Astrup/Rasmussen will take place at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday at 16.30 WIB.
